The Belly Wrap is a uniquely-designed, soft cotton abdominal binder. It can be used safely within 24 hours of a C-Section birth to provide gentle support and abdominal pain relief post-op. As it is very comfortable to wear, it can be worn full time and thus provides benefit in reducing the tummy after delivery and helping to close separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) that occur in late pregnancy. Adding Belly Wrap to your birth recovery plan is a must if you want to achieve the best physical recovery possible.

Product Description

Belly Wrap is the flagship product of Precious Package Mother & Baby products. It is the only soft Abdominal Binder available in the Southern African market, that has been specifically designed to accommodate Moms who deliver via C-Section as well as natural birth. Belly Wrap’s unique double layer cotton design allows for strong, yet gentle support, that is breathable and safe to use within 24 hours of a C-Section delivery.

One of the main problems facing new Moms who welcome their babies via C-Section is the pain and discomfort in the early weeks. This can go on to affect breast-feeding and bonding. By reducing pain through gentle incision support, Belly Wrap helps new moms to be more mobile and more comfortable while adjusting to life with a newborn.

Diastasis Recti (separation of the rectus abdominus, or “6-pack” muscle) happens in 2/3 of pregnancies to varying degrees. Left unmanaged and unsupported post-delivery, this can have consequences for poor abdominal muscle recovery. This condition requires consistent support of the abdominals, to prevent herniation of organs through the gap in the muscles. Unfortunately tolerance with the firmer binders on the market is very low (due to discomfort and breathing restriction), and to obtain good success with a binder, it needs to be worn consistently. The Belly Wrap is designed with this in mind, and thus provides support in a comfortable and discreet manner.

Adding a Belly Wrap to your birth recovery plan is a must if you want to achieve the best physical recovery possible.

Choose the Correct Size:

  1. Measure around your belly 4-5cm below your belly button at 33-35 weeks of pregnancy.
  2. Take your measurement around the buttocks area, not up at the waist.
  3. Subtract 8 – 12cm (10 – 20cm for twins) for post birth size estimate. Reduce weight by 5 – 7kgs for post birth weight (9kg for twins).
  4. If you are not pregnant but need the support post-abdominal surgery, use the actual measurement with no adjustment.

Note: The chart is based on an average height of 1.65m.
